In our classroom, we’ve been exploring Indigenous culture, with my emphasis on appreciating the valuable knowledge we can gain from Indigenous communities. While many students understand the significance of Truth and Reconciliation on September 30, I want to clarify that our class won’t be discussing the specific topic of residential schools. At this age, children are still developing their sense of time, and it’s not uncommon for them to have concerns about school as a safe and secure place.

We encourage everyone to wear orange on Friday, September 26th.
